Happy New Year Bookworms! And welcome to the first Top 5 of 2019!

I thought I would start this year off with my Top 5 Auto-buy Authors!

So far, I have 9 pre-orders for 2019. Listed here. On that list are a few of the authors listed below!

  1. Laini Taylor

First introduced to her work by Fairyloot, with Strange The Dreamer, which I devoured and gave to my friend instantly, I moved onto her Daughter Of Smoke & Bone Trilogy and ended up reading 4 of her books in 1 year. Since then I have email alerts for anything new and a wish list for all those I am missing.

2. Leigh Bardugo

Quickly after the first book I read of Leigh’s I was referring to her as my queen. Her writing is dark and brooding, her characters the same. I read her Six Of Crows duology and later moved on to the Shadow & Bone trilogy. I remember finishing Six Of Crows and reading the Author Biography and reading about this strong, beautiful woman who wrote a wonderfully complex character like Kaz. I just fell in love.

3. Claire Legrand

Again, I was introduced to this beautiful woman’s writing by Fairyloot with an ARC of Furyborn. It was released May 2018 and I received it in December 2017. I have waited what feels like forever for Kingsbane and I am so excited! Her other release of 2018, Sawkill Girls, was amazing, LGBTQA, kickass and lovable, haunted characters. Claire Legrand, forever on my auto-buy list.

4. Erin Morgenstern

The second I found out about The Starless Sea, I pre-ordered! I was late to The Night Circus proverbial party, but WOW! I loved every page, every sad, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, tear provoking word of that book! Even if you are not into romance, you can appreciate the visual beauty Erin creates with her writing. I am SO EXCITED for The Starless Sea.

5. James Brogden

I met James at Comic Con Birmingham in 2017 and picked up his book, Hekla’s Children. He was lovely and charming and later on in 2018 I finally read his book and WOW. Horror, graphic violence and supernatural elements, are just some of the themes in this book, I wrote my first book review on it here! And again in 2018 I went to London Comic Con and received a signed copy of his latest book, The Hollow Tree, (on my 2019 TBR) another horror based book that I am super excited to read. Next book, maybe another different Comic Con πŸ™‚

Special Secret Number 6. Narah Quinn!

I know, not a massive secret that Narah Quinn is my absolute favourite author of all time and also bestest bookish friend, but I lived in her world of Fallons for the entire writing process and loved every single second. Being any part of a creation like this would give anyone an appreciation for what a writer has to put in to create a book. I’m lucky enough to be apart of her second project too! You can find Narah’s blog here. And Fallons Hope here.

That’s all for today’s Top 5. I hope you liked it, who are your Auto-Buy Authors?

Till next time, bookworms, keep reading B)

Disclaimer: This is a recently curated list. The above is a list of authors I will be auto-buying GOING FORWARD. Not a list of authors I have always bought and forever will auto-buy from. These are my auto-buy authors as of this moment.
